Did you know that cholesterol levels fluctuate with the season? It rises in the winter and tends to fall in the summer. Levels will usually swing 10%, but swings up to 50% have been noted. This may be due to seasonal changes in hormone levels, enzyme activity, or to the increase or decrease in sunlight. If you are monitoring your levels, test within the same season to get an accurate reading.
